Here’s just a small sample of daily practice with the group I teach. We do what’s called ‘Radical Inquiry’. The basic premise is thate we consistently choose to open in breath and by doing so these qualities arise: openness, willingness, presence, trust, allowance, feeling communion, spaciousness.
From that ‘fertile ground’ we can ask questions which feed and nurture the desire to awaken in this incarnation - often with surprising results and with a deepening awareness in Christmind.
Here is the excerpt:-
This is interesting isn’t it, to feel things constantly rather than ‘think about’ them? It draws you constantly into the present moment, whereas the mind has a flavour of everything hinging on past or future events. The mind bases its ‘knowledge’ (thinking) on the matrices of past and future because if it truly stays present, it cannot feed.
So where does ‘I am having difficulty with my youngest daughter’ sit? Does it bask in present moment awareness?!
What operating system am I already choosing when I state that as fact? I wonder.
Is there TRULY a ‘problem’ with the one you call your daughter or does the fault occur in the perception of her and what it means to your identity?
‘I know I have to surround her with love and patience…’
Remember this from lesson 7, Way of the Heart:-
(p27) ‘There are many forms of that shadow, are there not? There are peers and parents and siblings to please. And there are governments to bow down before. There are mates and children that must come first. There are bills to pay. There are desires to check and keep in order. Hmm! There are activities and statements and behaviors, done by others, that require at least seven or eight hours a day for you to analyze and judge them to death. This world is exhausting but someone’s got to do it.’
L7 WOH
This world IS exhausting when you choose for it… what would happen right now if I didn’t choose it?
Where does they actually go, all those requirements that self give love and be patient, if I just become VERY AWARE of being here and now and present to whatever is arising, without any desire whatsoever to let the mind latch on and make meaning out of it?
What is the antithesis of the belief ‘I know I have to surround her with love and understanding…’?
‘I’ know ‘I’ have to…
Breathe…
Do you?
What does that small sweet voice, that wants to penetrate you when you’ll let it, want?! How about letting that voice tell you what needs your attention and what doesn’t?
How would life be, if I truly let that mind go, every single time I notice the quality that I am bathing in change from clear water where I can see through, to something murky and my breathing stops.
Can you practice noticing how the body feels when you’re in the sentence:
‘I know I have to…’ (conditions, contractions, limitations)
And how the body feels when you decree this:-
I am free right now to give all of the Love I am created to be to anyone who is willing to receive it.
